What’s this all about?
The title of this site and ministry, One Thing Worthy, references Mary and Martha in the book of Luke. These women were sisters to Lazarus and friends to Jesus Christ. I like plans, control and for my own little part of the world to be in what I consider to be "order". It is so easy for me to miss the opportunity to sit quietly at the feet of Christ and just enjoy His presence if I am not disciplined with it. Maybe you can relate? I fight for that time with Him and it is so worth it! I need Him! I am committed to choosing Jesus and choosing joy everyday and I want to encourage you to do the same.
I relate SO MUCH to Martha. Even in the context of ministry, it is easy to get distracted with all of the to-dos of my day. I do not want to miss out of any moment available to me to sit at the feet of Jesus. He is so good and has given me such freedom! I want more than anything for you to know Jesus, to be excited about Him and to see all the reasons to celebrate the life He has given you!
"As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!" "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed-or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." Luke 10:38-42
